Good news! I’ve been promoted to the position of “Senior Lecturer” (also known as “Associate Professor”, and I’m sometimes joking that SL is actually a “Senile Lecturer”) in my university. More opportunities, more responsibilities, and a higher salary. Not a professor yet, but it’s a small step in that direction.
